Applies to: Service Providers using CDK with RO Export enabled
If your shop works on serial-based assets — like APU units or refrigeration equipment — you can now control how meter readings are sent to CDK when you export a case to a Repair Order (RO).
This setting lets you choose which meter value from the case maps to each field in CDK, so the right data ends up in the right place without any manual correction.
Where to Find This Setting
- Go to Provider Configuration.
- Open the External Interfaces tab.
- Find the Export to RO section in the right column of the page.
- Look for the Meter Data Field Mapping configuration.
The External Interfaces tab now uses a two-column layout. Export to RO and all related settings have moved to the right column.
How the Mapping Works
When you export a case to CDK, the system sends meter readings in specific fields. For serial-based assets, you can choose what gets sent in each field.
Here's what each CDK field can receive:
CDK Field | What You Can Map Here | Default for Serial-Based Assets |
Odometer / Mileage | Odometer or Standby Hours | Engine Hours |
Engine Hours | Engine Hours or Switch-On Hours | Engine Hours |
APU and refrigeration assets track usage differently than vehicles. This mapping ensures the correct readings reach CDK — for example, sending engine hours instead of odometer mileage, which doesn't apply to these asset types.
What Happens When You Export
Once your mapping is configured, no extra steps are needed at the time of export. When you export a case with a serial-based asset:
- The meter values from the case are automatically sent using your mapping.
- CDK receives the data in the fields it expects.
- You won't need to manually adjust any RO fields for meter data.
Who Has Access
This feature is available to:
